The finished product! |
First off, I would like to thank my partner in crime, Kathleen, for her stellar comeback! Also, I would like her to name one dish that does not pair well with wine.... ;)
I attempted a Balsamic Steak Tip dinner that was in the 30 minute supper section of my Cook's Country magazine. I don't care what Cook's Country says...The only way the 30 minute meals would actually take 30 minutes, are if you were a trained chef (which I am not), or if you had actually done them a few times (which would defeat the point of this project). Now, with that being said....this one wasn't too complicated. It still took me an hour, but it was really yummy! I skipped the horseradish potatoes and just did what I know (also, not a fan of horseradish so it wasn't a tough call to skip it). It was good and was only $10-$12 to feed a family of 4 1/2. I would definitely do this one again.

Cook's Country Apr/May 2010 |
In response to naming a dish that does not pair well with wine...hot dogs and Mac & Cheese. Trust me. Had it last night. No bueno. So I did the only sensible thing, tossed the hit dog and filled my glass.
